			<description><![CDATA[ The ANU Chess Festival is running from the 27th July to the 1st August 2007. The major event is the ANU Open on the weekend of the 28th &amp; 29th July.<br>For this years event the organisers have made two significant improvements. Firstly, the prize pool has been increased to $3,300 , and secondly the event has been split into Open and Under 1600 sections. Eddie died last Thursday, the result of a long struggle with cancer. 			<description><![CDATA[ For those that run junior tourneys (particularly unrated ones), how about scoring as follows: 4 win, 3 draw, 2 loss, 0 forfeit. <br><br>That way kids score plenty from playing games (less discouraged than having 0's adding up to 0). The 4,3,2 is to the same proportion as usual whilst forfeiting is less desirable - so should be discouraged. ]]></description>
